A flight from Beirut International Airport, Friday, was delayed on its way to Rome, due to a cat escaping from its cage before departure.
The escape of the cat caused a delay in the take-off of a Middle East Airlines plane by 50 minutes, which confused the passengers and those on the flight, according to a correspondent of "SN Arabia" in Beirut.
The cat was accompanying an Italian citizen traveling on Lebanese Middle East Airlines, and she escaped from her cage and went into hiding, for nearly an hour, before she was found.
The plane remained on the tarmac, waiting to find the cat, who was found hiding in an electronics warehouse inside Beirut International Airport.
The workers at the airport returned the cat to its cage, and then the flight continued on its way to the Italian capital, Rome, after the employees reassured its owner.
